Team Asham – Building Champions!

What are your team goals?

Since it’s our first year together, our goal is to win at least one spiel and have a winning record overall for the season.

Kevin Cornell

Q. How long have you curled for and how did you get started?
A. I’ve curled for 6 years. I was in Chess Club at school and my teacher suggested I check out curling because people call it “chess on ice”.
Q. What are your curling achievements?
A. My team was consolation runners-up at an inaugural U16 spiel, when we were only 12.
Q. What is your most memorable curling moment?
A. Being selected as an Egg Farmers of Canada “Future Star” and participating on-ice at the Canadian Mixed Doubles Championship.
Q. If you could give one piece of advice to a young curler, what would it be?
A. Listen to your coaches and be open to feedback.

 

Brady Tubb

Q. How long have you curled for and how did you get started?
A. I’ve been curling for 8 years and I started because my mom plays.
Q. What are your curling achievements?
A. We placed 3rd in the U12 Little Rocks Provincials and had a 4-1 record at our first Kenny Coates U15 Provincials.
Q. What is your most memorable curling moment?
A. My most memorable moment was at he U12 provincials when we were down by 3 in the last end of all 3 games that day and we won all of them – 2 of them by a draw to the button to break the tie.
Q. If you could give one piece of advice to a young curler, what would it be?
A. My advice is to practice and put in the time and effort to get better.

 

Ross Bell

Q. How long have you curled for and how did you get started?
A. I have curled for 4 years. My friend Brady was curling so I wanted to try it.
Q. What are your curling achievements?
A. We came in 3rd place in the Little Rocks provincials and 1st place, second division at our first Kenny Coates U15 Provincials.
Q. What is your most memorable curling moment?
A. Our high finish in our first U15 Provincials – it was very exciting!
Q. If you could give one piece of advice to a young curler, what would it be?
A. My advice would be to stay focused.

 

Dax Godin

Q. How long have you curled for and how did you get started?
A. I have been curling for 4 years. Kevin and I were friends before I curled, and when he told me about it I wanted to try it.
Q. What are your curling achievements?
A. I’ve won a hot shots/hit-draw-tap competition and placed fourth in a U16 event. I also remember our first win against a U15 team as 11-year-olds.
Q. What is your most memorable curling moment?
A. Beating a U15 team at 11 was a great memory!
Q. If you could give one piece of advice to a young curler, what would it be?
A. There is always more practice to be done. No matter how good you get, you can always get better!
