2026 Brier: Memories, Friendships, and The Socialites

2026 Brier: Memories, Friendships, and The Socialites

The 2026 Brier just wrapped up, and our Asham crew had a fantastic time making lots of memories and meeting so many new friends with so much passion for our great game.

Among the many incredible people we connected with, we met a fantastic group of ladies who are affectionately known as "The Socialites" – comprised of three MacDonald granddaughters and a family friend who attend curling events wherever and whenever possible. Their energy and enthusiasm were infectious as they showcased their love of the game and their character throughout the event.

The Socialites aren't just passionate spectators; they're also deeply ingrained in The MacDonald Bonspiel which celebrates their family history and connection to the game of curling, a cherished tradition that has been running since 1975. This legendary event scheduled for March 20, 26 at the Canso Curling Club represents 50 years of stones, stories, and the kind of community spirit that makes curling so special.

Meeting people like The Socialites reminds us why we love this sport so much. It's not just about the competition on the ice – it's about the friendships, the traditions, and the shared passion that brings us all together.
